Camp Akiba represents a cherished escape from the routine of everyday life, offering a special blend of adventure, learning, and personal growth. It was my summer home where I built friendships forged over campfires and shared adventures, creating memories and friendships that have lasted my lifetime. The sense of community at Akiba and the opportunity to explore new interests, from outdoor activities to creative arts, have provided an invaluable sense of freedom, self-discovery and independence. I am so excited to introduce our wonderful summer home to the next generation of Akibaites.

 

The connection to Akiba runs deep in my family, with multiple generations having attended and shared similar experiences. Hearing stories from my parents and grandparents about their own camp adventures adds a rich, nostalgic layer to my own summers. Camp Akiba is not just my summer home, but for me an invaluable experience that fosters independence, resilience, self-confidence, and a deep appreciation for nature and camaraderie.

 

From a young camper, to the many roles I enjoyed and eventually working with my father as a director, I find myself in the place I love. My mother back in the early 70's placed a sign at the entrance of our pillars that still stands today "There are no strangers here only friends you have not met" a motto we still believe in. Fifty five years later of being an AKIBAITE my heart truly beats to the Blue & Gold! Akiba Forever.

 

As we prepare for the 2025 season, I am thrilled to finally say that AKIBA IS BACK!
